Glenavon 2-2 Portadown
Carling Premiership - Tuesday, 18th August, 2009
PORTADOWN twice came from behind to salvage their first point of the campaign from this Mid-Ulster derby at Mourneview Park.

Glenavon roared into the lead after just 50 seconds through Tony Grant who slotted the ball past David Miskelly after a partially cleared Willo McDonagh effort was knocked back into the area by Conor Walsh.

The Ports levelled on 26 minutes when John Convery connected with a Kevin Braniff delivery at the far post.

However, the Lurgan Blues regained the advantage on the hour from close range after Miskelly failed to gather an Adrian Harper lob.

But, 11 minutes later, Braniff sent a stunning 20-yard drive past Tuda Murphy to ensure a share of the spoils for the visitors.
