Ballymena United 1-2 Lisburn Distillery
JJB Sports Premiership - Tuesday, 16th September, 2008
GOALS from Neal Gawley and Gary Browne fired Lisburn Distillery to the top of the JJB Sports Premiership with this hard fought defeat of Ballymena United at The Showgrounds.

The Whites led at the break courtesy of a 41st minute Neal Gawley strike in off the post from the edge of the area after a Pat McShane ball was headed out by Gavin McDonnell.

And they moved further in front seven minutes after the break. A badly timed McDonnell tackle on Gawley prompted referee Paddy McFadden to point to the spot with Gary Browne delivering the resultant penalty below 'keeper Sean O'Neill.

It was almost 3-0 on 71 minutes when a 25-yard Gawley drive skimmed off the bottom of the post but United - still seeking their first win of the campaign - pulled one back four minutes later.

Wayne Buchanan bundled Neil Teggart to the ground and once Teggart gathered his composure he stepped up to drive the penalty past Alex Spackman although the 'keeper did get a hand to the ball.
