Ballymena United 0-3 Glenavon
JJB Sports Premiership - Saturday, 13th September, 2008
GLENAVON finally picked up their first win of the campaign at the expense of a beleagured Ballymena United at The Showgrounds.

And the three points gained sees Stephen McBride's side leapfrog the still winless United at the bottom.

The Lurgan Blues moved in front after half-an-hour when Tony Grant finished at the near post from an Eamon Murray pass.

And Murray got in on the act himself two minutes from the break with a sweetly struck first time effort from just inside the area.

Grant doubled his tally for the day on 61 minutes to complete the scoring with a close range finish from a Murray cross.
