Institute 0-0 Newry City
Carling Premiership - Saturday, 10th October, 2009
TEN-MAN Institute carved out a point from this visit of Newry City to the Riverside Stadium.

'Stute lost Thomas Wray just after half-an-hour following a challenge on Chris Morgan prompting referee Mervyn Smith into showing him a straight red card.

Up until that point the sides had traded chances with Kevin Ramsey coming closest for the hosts with a 25-yard free-kick while Newry's best effort - a Niall Henderson drive - was well saved by Gavin Cullen.

Indeed, Cullen turned out to be the hero of the hour for Institute with another spectacular save on the stroke of half-time denying a Ross Black piledriver.

Ramsey was thwarted again early in the second half by Andy Coleman while, at the other end, Cullen Feeney saw another effort kept out by the impressive home 'keeper.

John McDonnell's side had a great chance to claim victory right at the end when substitutes Matt Hazley and Andy Graham combined for the latter to offer up a close range header but, once again, Cullen proved equal to the challenge.
