Ballymena United 1-0 Crusaders
JJB Sports Premiership - Tuesday, 9th December, 2008
A STUART King goal after 34 minutes was enough to earn Ballymena United a second JJB Sports Premiership victory on the bounce.

King delivered a right-foot effort, aided by a deflection off David Magowan, past Chris Keenan after David Cushley had knocked the ball on following the failure of the visiting defence to clear a corner.

A few minutes earlier Declan Caddell might have given Stephen Baxter's side the lead when he headed over from close range despite being well placed on the end of a Gareth McKeown cross.

After the break the Crues came close again when Jordan Owens played the ball across the face of goal only for United defender Thomas Wray to stop it at the base of the post before 'keeper Alan Blayney safely gathered.

And Blayney was in action once more a little later when he kept out a downward Colin Coates header and a Jamie Marks drive.

The Crues ended the game with ten men when the aforementioned Marks was dismissed in the closing minutes for bringing down Gavin Melaugh on the edge of the area.
