The Whites might have opened the scoring through Gary Muir early on when his low free-kick took a deflection only to be cleared off the line by Bannsiders 'keeper Davy O'Hare.

They came close again when a Mark Patton cross/shot from the left flank came back off an upright.

Coleraine responded with a Darren Boyce shot from inside the area which produced the best from 'keeper Philip Matthews.

And the Whites custodian did well again to deny Stephen Carson when the Bannsiders talisman found himself one-on-one with the 'keeper.

Carson had another go later in the half with a shot from distance only for it to gather too much height while, at the other end, Stuart Thompson tested O'Hare from 25 yards but ultimately the effort went straight at the 'keeper.

The deadlock was eventually broken, though, in stoppage time when Hunter got his head to a Carson corner to secure fifth spot for the Bannsiders.
