Bangor 1-1 Ballymena United
JJB Sports Premiership - Saturday, 2nd May, 2009
BANGOR bowed out of the JJB Sports Premiership with a draw at home to Ballymena United although they came mightily close to picking up all three points.

Both sides created openings in the first half-an-hour or so with United striker Kevin Kelbie being twice denied by 'keeper Ryan Brown while, at the other end, a Dominic Melly effort was well saved by Alan Blayney.

Visitors United really should have taken the lead before the break when skipper Gary Haveron was presented with a free header but he failed to keep it on target.

The Seasiders moved in front nine minutes into the second half when Mark Magennis dispatched a 25-yard right-foot drive into the top corner.

However, they were denied their first victory in 12 outings four minutes into added time when Paul McNeill fired home United's equaliser.
